How to fit all these healthy foods into your day



We all know that eating healthy is the first step in staying healthy.  This is the primary activity of preventing disease that can occur.  At the same time, we all know that certain types of food are unhealthy for us.  However, eating healthy can sometimes be a problem.


Time is a major factor affecting whether we eat healthy food that has been cooked in a way that preserves nutrients.  Availability is also another one.  Cooking recipes also play an important role.  Many people believe that there must be truth in the saying that healthy food is boring food.


Then comes the flip side of eating which affects nine out of ten people.  diet


If you are on a diet or trying to eat better, you may have problems trying to get all the healthy foods you know you should include in your diet.  For the most part, many popular dishes and meals eaten do not contain large amounts of fresh, natural foods.  Besides eating a salad before a meal, what are some other options to consider?


If you are going to get more than a few servings per day of fruits and vegetables, you will have to plan for it because it will not happen by chance.  Processed foods, which have lost many of their healthy nutritional components are readily available - fresh food that has not been altered by any kind of tampering is very hard to find.  You have to do your best to get the right food in your diet.


One of the easiest ways to eat this type of food is to simply mix it.  There are a variety of blended fruit and vegetable drink recipes that you can follow.  



Take all those items you know you should be eating that don't go well with the other stuff and shake them up.  A common one is the so-called green drink.  




This contains apples, bananas, and some leafy greens.  You can also mix fruits and vegetables with something like whey powder to make fun combinations.  Drink it in the morning to get good food early in your day.


Another way to do this is to plan fresh foods as snacks.  Sometimes fruits don't stay well during the day like vegetables.  Have a few bags of fresh food that you can take with you to work or go out during your day.  Eat these snacks to include in your diet.


The key is to plan these foods into your diet with intent.  Find something that works for you so you can eat better foods throughout your day.
